Big changes are coming to CRHA’s Sixth Street neighborhood. The existing housing was built in 1981 and it was due for a refresh after years of heavy use.
CRHA and partners began planning with residents in 2021. There will be two phases of construction. The first replaces 6 units with a 47 unit building featuring structured parking, loads of indoor and outdoor community space and a UVA Medical Clinic.
Construction of Phase 1 will began in 2025 and is expected to last 18 months.
Second phase planning is underway. CRHA is anticipating a mixture of townhomes and a small walk up apartment building. CRHA will be seeking funding in 2026 for this second phase.
